Hello,
Under a category listing page I want all products that belong to these categories listed. I created a module, assigned it only to that category listing menu item. It works but it also creates an unwanted display of all my categories (except the general product category) on all the pages to which the module is not assigned. I do not want that effect. I have not been able to figure out which setting I should change and where. The categories disappear as soon as I delete the whole module but, of course, also the products listing module that I do want.

Hikashop options settings for the module:
Type of content: product
Main category: the same as for the category listing page/menu item.
Sub elements filter: All sub elements.
Synchronize: no
Menu: none.
Relation: In the module associated category.
Under display option I only set Category listing to yes.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've never heard of such side effect. So I don't see why that would happen.
However, I can propose an easy solution:
You actually don't need that module at all.
The categories listing menu item is already capable of displaying the products of the categories below the categories listing.
You just need to select "all sub elements" in the "sub elements filter" setting under the "products options" tab of your menu item.

Thanks. I found out it has to do with the template T4 blank I am using. Displaying the items through categories listing menu item solved the issue for a moment. I needed to create also other Hikashop modules for other purposes and the issue appeared again.

When I set the Hikashop module as a module in the T4 template it creates the problem, if I set a module position and assign the module to that position there is no problem. So, that way the problem is solved. I use only module positions.

And then there is a problem with custom modules showing up on product pages. Would you be able to assist on that? I have a menu item Hikashop product listing with an empty category. On that menu item page I have custom modules and hikashop product listing modules. When I open a product from a hikashop listing module all the custom modules are also displayed on the product page before the actual product. I want to have just a normal product page without the custom modules.

Thanks again.

Hello,

Did you try to use in your module settings to define where this module have to be display ?
For this go to the module settings, then Menu Assignment tab => Module Assignment option on "Only on the page selected" (OR "On all pages except those selected")
Then list, required page where you want display your current module.

Hope this will help you to progress on your subject.
Regards

Hi Philip,
Yes, I have these module settings selected.

Now, I somehow was able to avoid the custom modules showing up on product page. I deleted all products, imported them again and somehow It fixed it. This also changed the product breadcrumb - it is less accurate now, but at this point I don't mind. I really do not get how this works.
