Secure video sales via Hikashop?

I have seen a few posts regarding the sale of virtual goods but all seem to point toward allowing the user to download the file (video, PDF, etc) to their computer after purchasing it. Is there a way in Hikashop to have a buyer only have access to the video if they are logged into their account?

Better yet, if this is possible is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to do this kind of purchased content restriction?

Hi,

To me "allowing the user to download the file to their computer after purchasing it" and "have access to the video if they are logged into their account" are the same since to download the file requires being logged in with a user account with a purchase of that product.
But maybe you're talking about allowing the playing of a video file only after validating the identity of the user ?
That's only possible with DRMs. And to implement DRMs you need to combine the download /playing with an authentication service (like for example www.wowza.com/blog/secure-video-streaming ). So that means the development of a solution specific to such a service. Since different people want to have different DRM services, this is bound to be custom development with a lot of money involved.
But maybe you're talking about something simpler like having a video player directly on the website with access to the page of the player only after the purchase ? That's actually possible right now with HikaShop. You could have the video player in a Joomla article restricted to a specific user group and configure a product to add the user to that specific user group after the purchase so that he could then access the page of the player. However, this solution is as secure as the solution with the download link since even with a video player, the user can get the video file being sent to the browser for the playing (for example with such an extension chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/video-...hnhlojfnbfokng?hl=en ), so it doesn't match with the "secure" word of your thread subject.
