Hi there,
I currently have a florist shop with flowers separated into two categories, and consequently displayed using two different menus. Each bouquet has several variants - e.g. size. I would like to add the ability to allow customers to optionally select selection "chocolates" or "wine" etc, when they choose the bouquet.
Reading around, it looks like I need to:
- create a new "chocolate" product and, say, assign it to a "misc" category
- then for each of the bouquet products, add "chocolate" as an option
- then repeat for wine etc.
Questions:
- Is the above simple process what I need?
- When using options, will the default configuration allow for the 'extra' product to be completely 'optional' (so the user doesn't have to select it. Like a bolt on option ?). Or would I need to make other changes?
- Do I have to manually add these options to each of the bouquets, or is there a way to add these options to a given category. I.e. all items with a "bouquet" category, should include the options x, y, z?
- Finally, are the options shown as an additional cost I.e. chocolate +£3.00
Looking to get a good overview of how this would work, before I start making changes to the site.
Many thanks for your help,
Marc
