I wanted to know is it possible to remove "component/hikashop/product" part in URL when using Hikashop product module inside an article?
I am using multiple articles with text information and below text I load product module which lists corresponding products. My menu contains links to these articles. As a result all my URLs contain "component/hikashop/product" part.

Hi,

Yes. You need to select your shop menu item in the "menu" setting under the HikaShop options tab of your module.
That way, like for the links generated in that menu item, Joomla will replace component/hikashop by the alias of the menu item.

For the "product" part, it's the value you have in the "SEF product name" setting of the HikaShop configuration. This is taken into account for all the links generated by HikaShop to access product pages, not just modules.

I dont have my shop menu items available in modules settings. There is only Hikashop default menus and main menu (this is menu I use) with only one element - categories listing.

Then why not create a menu item of the type "HikaShop products listing" with the alias you want and select it in your module's menu setting ?

Ok. That works. I created invisible menu item and that changed product URL. But that means that I cannot use existing menu alias (menu item pointing to article which contains my product module) and need to use hidden hikashop menu with different menu alias?

Hi,

Yes. In Joomla, a page of a component can only be displayed when on a menu item of that component. Otherwise, it creates 404 errors.
