to play an MP3 when the customer clicks on a product?

You mean on the listing of products page ?
So it would be played during the redirection to the product page ?
Or are you talking about playing the MP3 on the product page each time the user clicks somewhere on the page ?
Or only when clicking on the add to cart button ?

While there is no ready made solution to do this by default, it sure would be possible for a developer to add some custom code, via a view override or a plugin to do that. What to do exactly depends on where and when it should happen.

Ok, so you mean it should auto play the mp3 when the user arrives on the product page.
Most browsers will block the auto play of audio when the page is loaded. It will only allow it if the user has interacted with the page (click, scroll, key press, etc):

So I'm not sure what you want to do is possible at all.
