Hi! Is there an automated report / notfication to let the admin know when stock is either very low or out of stock?

Thanks!

Hi,

I think that you'll probably find your answer through this thread :

There are 2 plugins:
The out of stock notification plugin which alerts you when products are out of stock (by default, once a day).
The order auto cancel plugin which cancels automatically created orders after a certain time.

Both plugins require that you first setup your cron task:
www.hikashop.com/en/support/documentatio...ashop-cron-task.html
There is no documentation for these plugins because they basically don't have any options. Once they are published and that the cron task is setup they will do their thing automatically.

I can't seem to find the out of stock notification plugin. Is this included with my version?
I have turned on the auto cancel and set up the Cron task (which I hope that I have done correctly!)

thanks!

Hi,

I am sorry, you're right. I check it and the plugin "plg_hikashop_out_of_stock" is include in the version Business of HikaShop but is not present in the Essential one.
Nicolas didn't mentioned it in the other thread because the user already have the business package.

Hi There,

I've enabled the plugin and setup a cron report. I have one product out of stock and was expecting to get a notification, but what I get is a cron report saying,

"HikaShop Triggered at 10 October 2013 17:17
Rates successfully updated"

I'm not entirely sure if this is what I'm supposed to be seeing? My other question is a have different variants for products, does the Out of Stock Plugin apply to the stock of these variants, or just to the quantity set on the main product page?

Any help would be appreciated.

Matthew

Hi,

A cron plugin have a frequency (period) option in order to give a call frequency and not call plugins too often.

The plugin does not make any difference between main products and variants.
The quantity has to be lesser than the stock limited configured.
Please note that's a less and not equal. So if you set "0", you won't ever be notified because the product quantity can't be lesser than 0. At this moment you have to put "1".

Sorry I'm still quite confused by this. So if I say set it as 1 as you mentioned, what happens if I have 2 products and they both get ordered, thus putting the the stock down to 0, will I not get notified in that case?

Hi,

You will be notified when the product quantity will be lesser than the value you configured.
We don't care about the previous value. The current value is the most important one.
And you will be notified each time for all "out of stock" products. so you can be notified several times for the same product if the quantity is still under the limit when the plugin is called.

Is it more clear ?

Hi Jerome, I think I'll need to play around with it a bit more but yes that is quite a lot clearer. I left it running over the weekend and had 3/4 out of stock emails this morning, do I only get them sent once a day even though cron is running every 15 minutes or whatever I set?
