wait for quotation

Hi,

I've got another question about shipping methods : in certain cases it's impossible to apply a shipping rule for payment, because it's too specific, especially when it's for international. So we need to make a quotation. But how can we do that?
I need the client to choose "a particular shipping method that needs quotation" for example:

1. it would send an email to the seller,
2. who would make the quotation and fill it in the order,
3. an email is sent to the client
4. the client pays

but I've got no idea of how to do that with hikashop. I'm a developer so I can make some development to fill the blanks but I 've no idea of where to begin?

Hi,

There is no development to do.
It's possible by default.
Simply create a collect on delivery/bank transfer/check/western union payment method in your backend and change its name to "wait for quotation" and change its potential translations at the end of the checkout with a translation override.
Then, create a manual shipping method "wait for quotation".
Then, restrict that payment method to this shipping method with the "shipping methods" restriction option and restrict the other payment methods to all the other shipping methods.

During the checkout, the user will be able to select that "wait for quotation" shipping/payment method. At the end, it will send you a notification of the order and you will be able to set the shippingprice and send an email to the user to tell him that he can now pay the order via his orders listing. If you turned on the "Allow orders to be paid later" option of the configuration, there will be a "pay now" button on the orders listing and that the user can use to pay the order.
