VERY high International Rates issue

-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Chrome 29.0.1547.76 & IE 10

When a person tries to order something internationally, the shipping charge is INSANELY high...more than double what it should be per the USPS website. How can I fix this? I know I had the same issue with US shipping, so I had to change a number around in one of the files on the server. Please help...thanks!

Hi,

We generally display the price returned by the USPS API (except your set a price or a percentage price in the shipping method).
Maybe you didn't activate right options in the configuration, maybe the weights or the size of your products are wrong configured.
Like that, I can't tell you more that these ideas.

Hello Jerome,

I was very dead on with the weights, double checked & triple checked them against USPS' website, and the shipping was more than double.

Where can I find the price or percentage listings for the shipping plugin?

Hi,

In the shipping method configuration, the first section with generic options contains the fields "price" and "percentage".
But I know that USPS can send prices without "discount" and it's maybe your problem.

Jerome...here's the images of those settings...is something set wrong? The US shipping is almost always right on the money since I changed a setting a while back...but the international shipping is way off. Are there any settings like the one I had to change in this thread...

Your configuration looks good.

It is possible that the problem described in the other thread can be the source of your actual problem.
I am not the expert of the USPS plugin, Mohamed is our expert and he will be available Tuesday.
Before this day, we will continue to investigate on this problem so, do you know the size of the weight of the cart you are testing ?
Do you think it will be possible to us to have an access to your website so we can see your configuration (size, weights, etc) and make some test in the front-end directly ? (you can send us such private information by private message or using the contact form).

Hello...package weighs 2lb, going from US Zip 53142 to Argentina using Priority Mail International. Per the USPS webiste, it's just under $30.00...but on my site it came up to $78.00.

I went on to my site to pull screen shots of the products that the person purchased...and I think I just found the problem. One of the items was listed as 12lb...it should be 12oz! hahaha...I just tested it and it's working pretty well now...but the pricing is about $10.00 over what it should be. Do you think it's the setting I originally changed? If so...I should increase that number a little more right?

Sure that can be a solution, but the best way will probably be to give me a temporary access to your back-end for testing purpose through a private message, then I'll probably be able to find out from where the problem was coming from.
