HI,

We wish to create some more complex shipping rules as follows:

1) Free Shipping

2) £10 per item charge to a selection of post codes such as EC,SE,SW,N,NW,TR etc

3) No shipping to post codes JE & GE which are jersey and gurensey as these are offshore.

We have set up a free shipping condition (screen1)
We have setup the £10 per item charge with another shipping method, with the prefix restrictions of EC,SE,SW,N,NW,TR (screen2)

When we test an order the free shipping shows for all UK addresses. Sure we are just getting something the wrong way round.

Also how can we completely restrict shipping to JE & GE postcodes?

Thanks

Hi,

To have no shipping on a zone, you have to have not shipping configured for that zone.
Because you have free shipping on all United Kingdom, you can't have no shipping configured for the JE & GE.
You are trying to configure it in the wrong direction : it's not exclusions, it is inclusions.

HI Jerome,

Thanks for getting back to me.

So that I understand, we would need to have two shipping conditions:

1) 10.00 per item shipping condition that had the restrictions of the post codes we want to apply it to. eg. EC, SW, NW

2) Free shipping - With every UK Post Code in the restrictions except the ones above that have £10 and JE & GE as we dont ship there?

Hope that makes sense,

Hi,
1. (inclusion) You'll be able to do that
2. (exclusion) But you won't be able to do that, the only solution to do what you want will be to :
The solution will just be to :
- Create a new Zone through "Hikashop->System->Zones->'NEW'"
- Save one time
- Adding all your sub-zone in this Zone

Then use that shipping zone through the "Zone" restriction option of your shipping method.

HI,

Thanks for the info

I have split out the two items into seperate zone

1) Free shipping

2) chargeable shipping

I have also removed the zone that we dont ship to.

However there is a bug in the process in that all the shipping conditions only work if the user selects the right state.

So for example I can still enter a full address in with a post code of JE or GE that we dont ship to.

If I select channel islands as the state then it tells me we don't ship there.

If I select any other state such as aberdennshire, the system will let me proceed even if the rest of my address is actually for a completely different area?

Any ideas on how we get round this? I am just pre-empting user error in the address input.

The only solution will be to create a shipping zone without the zones which have post codes starting by JE or GE, and to use it through the "zone" option of your shipping method.

HI Mohamed,

Yes think I have cracked it. I have created two new zones one for free shipping and one for the £10 per item shipping. I have then created two new shipping methods attached to these and all works fine. As there is no shipping method that relates to JE & GE then this works fine also.

Its just that the system can be fooled as the system does not check post code against state. So I can choose a post code of JE which is in the channel islands, but then say that I am in London which is not true.

Hikashop seems to calculate shipping on the chosen state and does not account for the post code. So you can have a post code that does not relate to the chosen state and thus all shipping conditions dont work.

I also notice that in your demo shop, you have a lot more UK states than are in our newly installed shop?

Hi,
I've done some research and I think that you should use the Export/UK shipping and delivery date plugins developed by BrainForge.
