UPS Shows 3 Packages?

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.3.2
-- Joomla version -- : 3.3.4

When I go through my checkout and shipping with my single product but with multiple options.variants I see the UPS ground shipping option says "3 packages" though their is only one package product...

I am not sure if this is throwing my checkout shipping prices off.. I had the Hika UPS shipping matching my online account but now it suddenly is off again...

Does anyone know why it says " 3 packages" ?

All of my options are set to virtual, except the one options which determines the weight and dimensions of the shipment...

Hello,
The solution will be to turn off the "Group packages" option through your UPS shipping configuration page.

I realize you are the main one trying to help me here and it is appreciated..


The problem is if I take of the "group packages" the price goes through the roof , but if I keep it "yes" to group packages I seem to still get a more expensive shipment price..

The main thing here is that it is only 1 package... all the options or variants do not add to the packages, they are just things like color choices not additional weight/dimesnions or anything that adds to the single package being sent,,,

I really need my UPS prices to for my hika/site to match my UPS account prices (as well as USPS) and then I REALLY need a way to get a tracking code to my customer for either shipment method...

I realize I have a few threads here and you are helping me so...


1) how to I get UPS in Hika to match my UPS account

2) How do I get USPS in Hika to match my USPS account

3) How do I send a tracking number to my customer once the order has been marked shipped in Hikashop Essential?

I am going on months here and need to launch this site... these three things are holding me back.. I do not think any one of them should be that difficult for a paid product in today's day and age (especially manually adding a tracking number to an email)...

Hello,

Then the solution will be to set the "group packages" option to YES and directly edit your translation file via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Translate->YourTranslationFile" and change that line :
X_PACKAGES="%s package(s)"
By :
X_PACKAGES=" "

The UPS and USPS are just sending the details of your order to the UPS/USPS shipping platform and then display the rates that are received from these platform, so the solution will probably be to manually edit the price received from them through the code of the 2 shipping plugins.
Also, note that you can also use the "Negotiated rate" option through your UPS shipping method.

Okay, well I am getting nowhere and now actually adding to my problems...

I had USP working the other day and giving me my online account shipper prices,, I got help here and fixed the problem and thought it was done... Now out of nowhere without making any changes it is not giving me my account "negotiated" prices... I have the "group packages" on and the "negotiated price" on but it no longer gives my my account pricing,.,,

any idea of what could have possibly caused this to revert back like this?

Now I discovered a new USPS problem... I have a product which requires is 20" by 2" by 1" and weighs 7 ounces... Now id someone orders say 10 of them I can fit them all in the same package as sending a single one, it would just add weight to the package BUT:

USPS seems to be adding the dimensions for each item added so if someone get 2 of the product it seems to be say the length is now 40" by 4" by 2" and once the order goes to 5 items the USPS plugin fails to give a shipping method saying the package is to big or the dimensions are over their limit... However I can ship 5 of them in the same size package the single.

Is there a way around this because this really does not work for me... This is also for International shipping which has prices all over the place so I cannot just create some restrictions and flat prices...

Tried it a few times and no luck? Not sure what happened... Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks.. I was able to work around it by just not adding any dimensions and only using weight, it seems to match USPS pretty good..

Hello,
1. That should have solved your issue, so if you don't see any difference the problem is probably coming from your UPS account itself or the fact that you have a "cache issue" can you test it with a different shipping address that you never used to test that shipping method ?

2. The Group package option will probably become a "global" option for shipping methods, so we are currently working on it.

Thanks for the help...

Seems you nailed the problem with a "cashe problem" I put in the address next door to one of my test addresses and it come up the correct amount for my UPS account but the other practically same address comes up at the base prices...

I have cleared the browser cashe multiple times with no luck but adding the new address worked... How to I fix the cashe problem?

Clearing your browser cache should do the job, you can also test it with another browser.

Yeah, the cashe is not the problem ... it is just giving me the wrong prices... just regular prices without my negotiated rate

I have been through everything, I just do not get it... It was working fine and now just stopped and went back ..

any ideas of how to get this plugin to match the prices of my account? This is going on months now of trying to get it tow work and I thought It was fixed and now this..

If you have correctly set your UPS shipping configuration page you should have the "good price". Also, note that the plugin is only sending the information regarding the package to send and is displaying the UPS response so the price will just depend on the way you configured your shipping method and on what your UPS shipping method send to UPS (shipping address/product dimensions&weight/Negotiate rate ?/ YourInformation/..).
Can you show me some screenshots of how did you configured your UPS shipping method ?
