Manual shipping module and ship charge by weight

Hi again!
My customer uses "Common Carrier Freight" for shipping and the shipping rate is based on weight. My products have the weight set. I'm using the shipping module for Manual Shipping but it's not calculating the shipping and shows the shipping charge as Free shipping. See my attachment picture.

- Tell me how do you want them to work ?

Hi I attached some screenshots: The first one shows 2 shipping plugins. I don't have the FEDEX one started yet so don't worry about that one for now. My problem is with the one labeled "Common Carrier Frieght" which I used the manual shipping plugin for. The second shot shows how I've configured the Manual shipping plugin...can't see what to do actually with this...and the the third is showing a product with the weight defined. Any other screens you need? I can also give you access if that would be easier. Also should mention that the products were imported from virtuemart as we are moving to hikashop from vm.

Ok, but how do you want your shipping method to be configured, and how do you exactly want to define a price for your shipping methods ?
Because regarding the fact that your shop is returning a free shipping method through your checkout is totally normal because you didn't set any price for your shipping method.

Ok...you are right...and thank you for helping me think this through. I believe what I need is the ability to set a price and have the shipping calculated by weight, postcode ( zip code in US ) origine and destination, and country. So I would set a price code of for example $10 and based on the product weight, the warehouse zip code and the shipper's destination address zip code the amount would be calculated. Does this sound correct? See the attached screen shot from the VM shipper plugin. Do you have anything like this already? Minimally, I'd like to show "0.00" rather than "Free" and the message "Shipping will be billed on invoice".
