Manual shipping - Weight, volume calc. per product

Hi,

I would like to setup manual shipping methods calculating with volume (cm3)
or with weight (kg) per product like the price per product function.

The weight (kg) or volume (cm3) fields can not be calculated per product.
I have set up more volume categories for my products but if a customer buys
more pieces of products, the order's volume can exceed the maximum
volume restriction of the shipping method and so the shipping method
will not be displayed. I have set the maximum volume restriction higher,
but in case of buying more products it is not a solution.

Could you please give me an advise, how I could set weights or volumes
for specified products, which are not calculated per order.

I have set a higher maximum volume restriction.
It solves the problem in short term.
