Hello,

My client's business charges a $3.00 handling fee per order, and they ship with FedEx. I have successfully created the handling fee by adding it to the FedEx shipping plugin. However, the client would like to display the handling fee on the checkout, separately from the shipping cost. Right now, the checkout looks like this:

Subtotal: $7.95
Shipping: $15.50
Total: $23.45

Is it possible to display it like this?

Subtotal: $7.95
Shipping: $12.50
Handling: $3.00
Total: $23.45

Thanks very much -
Anne

Hi,

How that fee is currently added ?
Are you using a shipping price ?

Depending the configuration and with more details about your requirements and details on that handling price (if the price can change, how it is determine, etc) ; we would be able to give you some tips.
But depending your organisation, the solutions is very different so we will need more details to give you a clear answer.

Right now, we're using the FedEx shipping method with a price of $3.00. The cart is correctly adding that $3.00 to the shipping price, but my client wants it to be displayed separately in the checkout, not added together with the shipping. So instead of displaying a total shipping cost of $15.50, it should display $12.50 for shipping and $3.00 for handling. Is that possible?

Hi,

Yes it is possible using order additionals (plugin) or view overrides.
But without precise details about the price etc (cf my previous message) I can't tell you more about the right solution.

Jerome,

The handling fee is added into the FedEx plugin, as I mentioned. It is a flat fee per order, not per item. I've attached a screenshot showing the configuration. You'll see that the handling fee is $2.00, not $3.00 - that was just my mistake in my original forum post, and the correct amount is $2.00.

Thanks for any advice you can offer! Again, the fee is being calculated correctly, but we just need to display the handling separately from the shipping.

Hi,

Because the price is fixed and you're not using tax ; you can use a custom plugin to add an entry in the order additional.

Here a sample of a custom plugin using order additional (with a conditional value of a custom field).
www.hikashop.com/forum/checkout/872829-w...s-a-gift.html#179177

Thanks to that, you can specify the price you want to add in the order and also the label that you want.
The order additional is display during the checkout, in the email, etc.
So you do not need to override every elements to remove your $2 from the shipping to display it in another row.
