Hi, I could use some help.
I created some products (books) each with there own weight in grams.
e.g. book 1 is 1700.00 grams

I made 4 shipments :
1 for Netherlands from 1 to 10000 grams
2 also Netherlands from 10001 to 30000 grams

And 2 for Belgium in the weight classes just other prices.

I created a customer who lives in the Netherlands.

But here it ends. No shipping methode is used on checkout.

What did i do wrong ?

This is one of the shipment methodes:

Hi,
i just found out that if i remove the zone from the 2 methode for weight between 1 gr and 10000 grams (so for Netherlands and Belgium)
it works partly i now can choos between the shipments.

Could it be possible the system cannt compare the country from the shipping methode with the country from the customer ?

Hello,

Could it be possible the system can't compare the country from the shipping methods with the country from the customer ?

In your case your issue seems to be coming from the zones you used on the "Zone" option of your shipping methods, did you create yourself these zones (shipping zones) or did you use the default "Country" zone Belgium / Netherlands ?

Hi Mohamed,
Well in the shipping method i used the zones "Shipping zones" Because country would not work.
Then i altered the custom field "Adress_country" and added the 2 countrys (Netherlands and Belgium) as shipping-zone country.
See picture

This seems to work. Accept when a new customer is added he sees 2 time Netherlands and also twice Belgium.

Hello,

This seems to work. Accept when a new customer is added he sees 2 time Netherlands and also twice Belgium.

The best solution will probably be to use the default "Country" zones, but note that you can also unpublished the countries and use your shipping zones.

Hi MOhammed,
yes is diabeld the country from the type countries.
But it is still strange it cannot compare the country from the customer with the country from the shipping-zone (type is country).

We only sell books to Netherlands and Belgium. So it works.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I'm glad to hear that it works fine, the issue you had was probably coming from the way you have configured your custom shipping zone.

Hello,
You'll just have to go to "Hikashop->System->Zones->'Your Zone'" and directly configure your custom shipping zone to be sure that you correctly have the good country in it.

Hi Mohammed,
it's getting more complecated by the hour :-) .
What should i configure here, other than add a new (zone)country an be sure that someones address uses this (zone) country instead of the country of the country type.
What do zones differ from countries?

Is there some documentation or example configs on how to configure shipping by zones (is countrys).

Thanks for your patience.

Hello Jan,

What do zones differ from countries?

They are still zones, but you generally use them to restrict your shipping method for MULTIPLE Sub-zones that you can add through their configuration page.
Having a custom zone with only a country in it will be useless so you should just use your "countries" zones, if you want to restrict your shipping method to only 1 country. Else you'll have to create a custom zone.

Hi Mohammed
No it all works and i understand how it works.

i created for POSTNL (dutch postal services) eurozone 1 (with germany and france) eurozone 2 (poland and finland)
And 3 different shipping methods on weight for the Netherlands and one for "Come and pick it up"
Tested with several customers from several countries (so not zones), several number of package.

It works fine.

Thanks so much for your patience

regards Jan
