Shipping Method Questions

Hi,

I'm trying to setup some shipping rules using the manual shipping method but I'm coming into a few problems.

Delivery to certain UK post codes attracts a much greater charge than the rest of the UK.

I have setup a manual shipping method that is based on the country UK only, lets call this "Standard UK Shipping"

I have then setup another manual shipping method that is based on postcode prefix match, e.g. IV2 lets call this "Highlands Shipping"

The issue is that if someone has the IV2 postcode then both shipping methods show. How do I get it so that if the "highlands shipping" method restriction is matched, how to I then get it to not show the "standard UK Shipping"?

I have Hika shop business, and have a similar issue, just not sure where to start. I have free delivery to most of the UK but would like to make a small charge for certain postcodes. Not quite sure where to start or whether Hika Shop business can do this already. Could you please lead me in the right direction if there is one.

You should probably test it with the brainforge manual shipping method (through the link that Nicolas gave), because excluding a post code from the zone of a shipping methods isn't possible in Hikashop, you can only do it based on country/state.

I was hoping rather than excluding a postcode, we could add certain postcodes to the delivery methods where there would be an additional charge. Just trying not to involve our web developer yet again for more changes.

You can already do it by using the "Suffix/Prefix" and "Minimum/Maximum post code" options, but the problem is coming from the fact that you won't be able to exclude your free shipping method, so you'll have 2 shipping methods displayed.

If you use the brianforge plugin you can match on postcode and then you can select the other instances of the plugin to not show if matched elsewhere. Therefore you can create a global shipping rule that hides when another shipping rule is matched with a postcode.
