Hello-
I think my question was not clear... So I will try again.
This is what I am trying to accomplish:
1) The shop will be putting up to 4 products per package for shipping. (EX: 1-4 products = 1 package, 5-8 products = 2 packages, 9-12 products = 3 packages, and so on)
2) The package is a box of fixed dimensions, having a specific weight of its own, and the products have varying weights. These product weights have been entered for each product in HikaShop.
3) The configuration of the Hikashop Canada Post plugin does NOT allow me to enter grouping information when "Group packages" is set to YES (see image: Capture-group-packages-no-additional-settings.jpg) even though the tutorial on your website shown
here
does (see screen shot: Capture-tutorial-canada-post-group.jpg).
4) A box with the specific dimensions (32.7 cm x 23.2cm x 21.6cm ) and weight (0.175kg) has been added to the Canada Post settings since I could not set the grouping specifications in HikaShop. Each product has dimensions specified as well (20cm x 16cm x 11 cm)
In reference to my example given in my 1st post for 5 products (see image: Capture-2-packages-unit-price), the Canada Post plugin gives a price of $14.09, and indicates that 2 packages are required.
NOTE: when only 1 product is put in the basket, I get a shipping price of $14.09 also, and no indication of the number of packages. (see image: Capture-1-product-shipping-price.jpg)
You answered me:
your products will be grouped into 2 packages, and the rates to ship both products is the value of the shipping methods available for your order.
Are you saying that the shipping price shown (in my case $14.09) is the price that Canada Post is calculating for the total number of
packages?
I test with 100 products in my cart, and the Canada Post plugin is still showing 14.09$, and saying 26 packages. This seems wrong:
1) I do not think that 14.09$ for shipping 26 packages is the correct Canada Post rate.
If the price shown is supposed to be for all packages, how do I fix it to ensure that the price is actually taking into consideration ALL packages?
2) Also: 100 products should group into 25 packages, not 26, so I need to fix this as well. (looks like something is not properly set to group packages properly...!)
Any help or guidance that can be offered in getting this resolved would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Stephanie
