I apologize if this question has already been answered but I honestly have looked almost everywhere and can't get the answer.
Could someone explain to me a bit more clearly how the UPS and other shipping modules work. I understand it gets our estimate (time, cost, etc) but I need to know how UPS understands what the module does.

Pretty much we have a shop with 20+ vendors. We do not handle the shipping, our vendors do. The issue comes into place when some of them ship with UPS, they are willing to give us their API but following the documentation we also would need their account #, account password, etc which they will not be willing to share or setup on our site themselves.

Are we able to setup our own UPS account and use that API and account info for all the vendors just so we can charge our customers the correct shipping without UPS receiving information thinking we are shipping and need them to come and make a delivery? We just need the correct shipping costs, the actual shipping will be handled on the vendor side.

Hi,

For your question on HikaMarket, the best is to use the HikaMarket forum section.

You can assign shipping methods to vendors and you can use "Split shipping fees" and "Shipping per vendor" in order to let the vendor handle the shipping price in his order.
If you activate the setting "Configuration of plugins by vendors", your vendors will have the right to edit the shipping plugins directly in the front-end interface.

www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/1...onfig_market_general

But a shipping method will stay an HikaShop shipping method.
Which mean that the administrators will still be able to manage all shipping methods in the backend (and also in the front-end if you give the shipping edition ACL to your main vendor).
The settings are stored in the database and the backend allow you to access to every elements.

I understand your point of view but I don't know how we can add such kind of feature in HikaMarket ; the administrator in the backend should be able to see and fix the shipping configurations.
Maybe the usage of a filter in the listing could be useful so by default the admin will only see shipping methods for "all vendors" and for the "main vendor".
