-- url of the page with the problem -- : www.cmdnet.org/cmd-store
-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3
-- Joomla version -- : 3.6.2
-- PHP version -- : 7.0.6
-- Browser(s) name and version -- : Firefox (any)

We have both UPS plugin (no version number displays) enabled for shipping as well as a number of manual shipping plugin options (to provide select USPS shipping options).

Over the weekend the UPS plugin has started to display all UPS options as 'Free Shipping' (for all selected/enabled shipping means).

This is happening on all physical products in the system.
The manual shipping settings are all working properly.
I've double-checked and the weight and dimensions are set for the products tested.
Nothing was installed or uninstalled from the site since it was last working properly a few days ago.
No server changes were made either.

Also, I tried to review the settings in the UPS shipping plugin, to make sure they were all set properly; however, the online documentation is SIGNIFICANTLY off from the plugin (a number of new fields are included that aren't listed on the docs).
I can't find anything that would indicate what version of the plugin is installed (there is no version listed in the Joomla! management listing for this plugin.

Any ideas what might have happened to cause this?

Hello,

Can you show us some screenshots of how you configured :
- Your UPS shipping method
- The products weight/dimensions that were on your cart
- Your checkout workflow (Hikashop->System->Configuration->Checkout)

Thank you.

Attached are the screenshots requested.

NOTE: You can also test directly at cmdnet.org (although you'll need to create a user account as all sales require a logged in user).

Hello,

Can you also set a correct "State/Province Code" through your UPS configuration page and test it again ?

Thank you.

OK ... I 'guessed' at what the 'code' should be (this isn't shown/described in the documentation) as the 2-letter state abbreviation and it work.

However, now we have a different problem ... it is defaulting to the USP Next Day Air shipping method (the first on in the UPS options); however, that makes the shipping $62 on a $20 item.

Although you can select a different option easily, our users will likely see that and just abandon their cart (or call and ask why shipping is so high).

Is there any way to set which is the default shipping method?
Ideally we would like UPS first (listed in order of least expensive to most expensive) then our custom/manual shipping entries.
I can re-order the plugins (to put the UPS after the custom); however, I don't appear to be able to order the display of the 'shipping services'

Is there any way to do this?

The UPS shipping method is only sending order information to the UPS platform and then displaying every rates returned by the UPS platform so we don't have any power on the rate returned by UPS.
However if rates are too high you can send me a temporary back-end access to your website and the list of products that are on your cart during your tests by using our contact form so that I can directly test it.

The only way to directly order shipping services, will be to create one UPS shipping method per services, and directly reorder all your shipping methods.

Including multiple versions of the same shipping plugin sounds like the best option.

Is there any problem with having the system configured with multiple versions of the same shipping plugin?
(i.e. one UPS for Next Day, one UPS for ground, etc.)

Are there limits of connections from a site to UPS (or any other provider) in a certain amount of time?
Or would that add significant processing time to the cart?

Hi,

There is no special limitation with the shipping APIs and HikaShop have an internal cache system so it do not need to perform the same request twice.
For the first processing (when the cache is invalidated), it will be hard to say for the processing time ; it will add some processing time but we can't really predict how much.

Well, that didn't quite work.

When we have individual plugins (one for each shipment type) it appears to have problems with grouping.

Using Single Plugin:
- Everything displays properly; rates are proper

Using Multiple Plugins:
- It displays "# packages" under each of the other payment options (see screen shot attached), even when we only have 1 item in the cart.

If I set "Group Packages" to NO, then I don't see those package notices. Which would be fine if we were only shipping one item; however, the rates are completely off if I do that when you have multiple items in the cart (shipping prices are doubled understandably).

I'm going to send temporary back-end access so you can take a look at the settings.
NOTE: This is a live site although there should be low volume until Tuesday due to US Holiday on Monday.
The strange thing is that it shows "packages" when the group by is ON (

Ok we'll test it on our end, a good thing will be to directly edit your translation file via "Hikashop->System->Configuration->Languages" and change that line :

X_PACKAGES="%s package(s)"

By :

X_PACKAGES=""

OK ... I could do that (change the language string); however, that doesn't actually fix the issue.

It also rasises a couple concerns:
* IF a visitor purchases enough items to require multiple packages it won't properly indicate that information
* Is UPS actually giving proper rates (esp. in case above when multiple packages are required)?

Hello,

1. Yes, I only wanted you to disable it so that we can test and fix it on our end.

2. Yes, but the fact that we have 1 UPS shipping method per service is probably disturbing the calculation of the number of package required.
