-- HikaShop version -- : 3.00
-- Joomla version -- : 2.6.5

Currently I have all my sales exported to my shipping program and all orders have been adding my "shipping" as a product rather than shipping as it should. So I figured I would use the USPS shipping plugin and not the manual plugin.

The USPS plugin problem is that I put a fixed price in the price box of 12.5 and I figured this would allow the fixed price. I also have the USPS web tools user id input and it appears to be working although the quote is about 2x what it should be. Normally the shipping cost is 7-9 dollars but I charge a flat $12.5 to make things simple.

My 3 questions.

1. How do i get this plugin to do a flat shipping rate?
2. Will using this plugin send the info to my shipping program "ship station .com" as a shipping method as it should or also add the shipping as a product as with manual flat fee plugin?
3.Will this allow customers to see tracking if they login to there account?

I also wanted to add that currently I have the plugin turned off because having it on will lose money and hurt my sales. Customers wont pay 20 dollars for shipping. Its an absurd price here in the states for what is being shipped.

Hello,

1. If doing "flat shipping rate" means having a fixed price, then only the Manual shipping methods will do that.
2. 3.
Using that plugin will only display USPS shipping rates regarding your order details and which are returned by the USPS platform.
No information will be sent and stocked, so your customer won't be able to track their order using that plugin but will just have to pay the price that you'll have to pay USPS to send their order.

Best regards,
Mohamed Thelji.

Okay then I guess I need to work on the manual plugin to get what I need done.

My issue with manual plugin:

When customers checkout the information gets forwarded to my shipping provider in a format where shipping is labeled as a product rather than shipping. When I have customers pay though paypal they have the information forwarded correctly and shipping isn't added as a "product". Is there something I can do on my end or does the manual plugin code need to be updated?

This is causing many problems for me with taxes, labels, and confusing for employees as well. Just looking to make shipping as shipping and not as a product as it is now. That was the only reason I even tried playing with the USPS plugin because I could not get it to work.

Summary of questions
1. How do I make it where shipping is coded as shipping and not coded as a product. I am not talking about the text label itself but how it is categorized. There is a coding for shipping vs products.

2.So what does the "Price" feature on the USPS plugin if it doesn't set a fixed price? I am confused on this.

Hi,

1. I'm afraid that I don't understand your question.
The shipping is the shipping and whatever plugin you'll use, it will handle the exact same way in HikaShop : as a shipping method with his shipping price.

2. USPS is a plugin which get shipping quotes thanks to the USPS API.
You can set a shipping price in the plugin, but it will be seen as a shipping extra fee.

Like Nicolas already mentioned ; if you do not want the USPS shipping rates ; you should not use that plugin.
By using the USPS shipping plugin ; you actually ask to use the USPS rates for your shipments.
Please be sure that we are as confused as you are.

Sorry that I was as clear as mud on this. I will try to do better with some pictures.

This picture shows the way it works when I process payment with paypal through my shipstation.com shipping program. It labels shipping as shipping and not as a product see below. This is the way it is supposed to work

So here is the same shipping program but using hikashop with the paypal pro plugin. This one is an example of my problem.

On this one you can see the "shipping paid" first arrow is 0.00, this should be 12.50 but instead if you see in the details look at second arrow it is labeling shipping as an "order item" rather than in the "shipping paid"

This ends up creating problems for taxes, accounting, and confusion with when the labels are printed how many items are supposed to be in the box. I hope this makes things more clear. Sorry it wasnt before.

Hi,

I don't knwo where you get that screenshot from.
However, I've checked both the ShipStation plugin we have on our end and the PayPal Pro plugin in HikaShop and both sends the shipping fees of an order with the specific parameter for shipping fees so there is no way the shipping fee would end up as a product.
So I don't see how you could have that with HikaShop/ the PayPal Pro payment plugin/the ShipStation plugin.
It doesn't matter which shipping plugin you're using.
So all I can think of is that there is something you're not telling in your messages, like for example you're using an old version of the ShipStation plugin, or you're using something else to migrate the data to where you're doing this screenshot and that this migration tool is doing that.

Well sorry. I didnt know you guys even made a "shipstation" plugin so that was my issue on that. But I ran into a issue when working with the shipstation plugin.

I was able to get the plugin API connection working and setup a new custom store. But when I go to sync my store in shipstation I get this error.

An error occurred attempting to update orders: Error in XML. Reason: The 'Country' element is invalid - The value '' is invalid according to its datatype 'StringExactly2' - The actual length is less than the MinLength value.

I checked all shipstation tabs and settings and the plugin as well I cant find where it requires this "country" field to input USA

See attached picture below.

Hi,

As you can see in your screenshot, Shipstation is giving you errors because your HikaShop user do not have a country in his address.
You do not have any "country" field published in HikaShop ; so countries of your users are empty.
