Client site has shipping charges based on number of products.

However, on orders "Over 25" products, the shipping rate will be on enquire, that is: the buyer must contact the seller for the price to ship the products.

How do we configure that as a Shipping Cost?

If we leave the Shipping Rate blank, it indicates "free" shipping and $0.00 in the price fields, which would not correct for the order of 26 or more products.

Please advise as how to not show free or $0.00 shipping costs.

Something like the word "Enquire" in place of those items would be useful, and have them as live links to an enquiry form that we would design.

Any guidance and suggestions on this shipping issue would be appreciated.

Hi,

You could just use a translation override in order to change that text:
www.hikashop.com/download/languages.html#modify
Otherwise, you could just not have an shipping method. In that case, you would get an error message telling the customer that there are no shipping methods available. And you could customize that message with a translation override as well.

Our question was not how to deal with the text "free" but how to indicate that the buyer must enquire on shipping charges on quantities over a certain number of products.

When a buyer wants the higher quantity where a non-standard shipping charge must apply, how do we indicate that during the purchasing transaction?

Hello,

Then the solution will be to directly change the value of the "Free" text to "On enquiry", here is the translation line that you'll have to edit.
Also, we won't be able to properly advise you if we don't know how you exactly want to proceed for orders with more than 25
products. Do you want your customers to directly pay for their orders through the checkout workflow ?

For orders of 26+ products, the buyer should contact the shop owner.

We do not want the transaction to proceed to payment, insomuch as payment includes shipping charges, which are actually undetermined with higher quantity orders.

I already provided you with an answer to that:

Otherwise, you could just not have an shipping method. In that case, you would get an error message telling the customer that there are no shipping methods available. And you could customize that message with a translation override as well.

When no shipping methods are available for the current cart/customer, the system won't let the customer finish his checkout and will display an error message.

This issue has been resolved by using the Braincraft Manual Shipping Plugin, and some excellent support from them.

The feature has been added to their extension for future releases.
