Wrong currency of shipping method restrictions displayed in summary

-- HikaShop version -- : 2.6.3

Hi,

I set up shipping methods as follows:
The shipping price is (and must be) in NIS (Israel Shekel).
The restrictions are:
Weight restriction groups + maximum of $125 for the order (so whoever purchases above $125 gets free shipping).
Different country groups (excluding Israel where I reside)

In the shipping method page it appears (and saved) correctly:

However, in the shipping methods summary page, it shows as 125 NIS, as can be seen here:

Since I cannot test it myself (as I reside in Israel so I'm not in the country restricted group) - I'm worried:
What will work? $125 USD (as should be) or 125 NIS (as displayed in the summary)?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

You're using HikaShop 2.6.3 ; that version have almost one year old.
www.hikashop.com/support/documentation/5...ashop-changelog.html

About your "issue" ; there is no bug or problem, but your configuration is misguided.
The "restrictions" are there to create a restrictions ; the currency restriction is there to filter the method depending the current currency ; that's why you can select several currencies in that field.

So for sure, all element related to prices will use the main currency you of the method, the one at the top of your configuration.
The currency restriction, due to his nature cannot be anything else that a restriction of currency. Not an indicator for the price restriction.

Thank you for your answer.
I'm not sure I completely understood it.

Kindly advice:
=================
I live in Israel, so the prices of delivery are in Israel Shekel. Since conversion rates change from day to day, I must have the delivery price be in Shekel.
However, for sales abroad, I want to have a price in $USD, above which, customers will enjoy a free shipping.
How should I set up the delivery price and the restrictions so that it works this way?

(If I set the restriction price in Shekel - the actual limit will will change daily, which is not good).

Thank you.

Hello,

If you want to use a "price restriction", that price is in the same currency that the shipping method price.

So if you want to have a restriction on USD you also have to set the shipping price in USD.

Hello,

I'm sorry but that it's not related to the flexibility ; and it does not affect it at all.

As I told you in a previous message, the currency restriction is a multiple choice.
So if you select several currencies, which one would be the currency to use for the price restriction ?!
The answer is simple : It is not possible. That's why the only thing available is to use the shipping currency, which is also used for the shipping price.

Hi,

Jerome and you are talking about two different things:

- The currency restriction allows you to select for which currencies a shipping method should be displayed or not.

- The min/max price restriction allows you to say for which range of prices a shipping method should be displayed or not, and it uses the same currency as the "price" field.

As Jerome said: using the currency restriction setting for the currency of the min/max price is not logical and not preferable since you can select several currencies in that setting.

As you said: having to set the min/max price restriction in the same currency than the one selected for the price field is limiting.

The ideal solution would be to add an extra currency dropdown for the min/max price fields, like we already do for the weight/volume restrictions.
I agree that this could be an idea for a future improvment. The main reason we didn't do that is because we don't want to confuse the merchants (there are already 2 currency selection field on the screen), and most of the merchants (99%) around the world want to enter the restrictions on price in the same currency as the price of the shipping method.

I hope it helps making clear the situation.

Hi Nicolas,

First of all - THANK YOU (and Jerome of course) very much.
Now it is absolutely clear.

We have a saying (jokingly) in Israel: When you explain slow, I understand fast. :-)

I certainly agree that this can be a good idea regarding the addition of this option in future development.

Again - thank you very much.
I enjoy Hikashop and love working with it.
