Hi,
we're going to sell pharmaceuticals and some are tax free because they are subsidised by the government. How can we;

  1. Import separate 'cost' and 'retail prices' when we do a bulk upload/import (i.e. the import field names)?
  2. Change the tax to 'apply' or 'not apply' for individual products?
Many thanks. Love the product,
Ian and Stu

I'm looking at the 'Product tax category' option in the products pages. We know what this should be for each product before importing it. So, if you can tell me the import field name and values to use, we should be sorted.

Hi,

In the product_tax_id column of your CSV, you can either keep it empty (and thus the product won't be assigned to any tax category and no tax will apply), or enter the id of a product tax category (and thus the prices of the product will be taxed based on the tax rules of that tax category).

Hi,
I'm looking at the existing tax categories and there are only two. Will importing additional categories via product_tax_id create additional selections over and above 'None' and 'Default tax category'?

Thanks,
Ian and Stu

Hi,

Yes. If you enter a name of a tax category which doesn't exist, it will be created automatically during the import.

Thanks. I think I understand and will test it out.

Cheers,
