wish list doesn't work properly. Say if someone has two items in their cart and they want to buy one and put one in their cart, they cant just put one in the wishlist. Both go into the wishlist.

It seems that you have made changes in the views or somewhere else.
That can cause the issue. Thanks to save your changes in an external file, and reset the changes via the menu Display > Views and try again.

dont know if you understand me or not, but the question was.. is it possible that if i have two items added to cart, but when go to checkout, i just order one item and pay for it and another item i just put in wishlist without removing it from the cart?

Indeed, I don't understood the situation.
It's possible in HikaShop to put products from cart to wishlists thanks to the menu type "hikashop - showcart".
When in that menu, and with the desired options enabled in Configuration > Features > Wishlist, the customer can put some of the items to the wishlist, and change the quantity in his cart to purchase only one.
