It is not necessary - nor should it be - to register on my site.
Is it possible to offer my customer a wish list anyway?

Hi,

The "wishlist" feature is only available to registered users and can't be made easily available to guest users, even with code customization.
However, a nice an simple alternative to it is to use this like plugin:
www.hikashop.com/marketplace/product/155-product-like-btn.html
It works for all user groups, even guests and will allow them to get a list of the products they like.
The 2 main differences with the wishlist system is that you can't set a quantity for the liked products, and you can't share the list of the products you liked with someone else (at least not for now).

Did this ever change in four years?

Hi,

No. Now, when the wishlist system was made, years ago, HikaShop didn't had a guest checkout. It should potentially be possible in the future to support guest wishlists via the guest system in HikaShop, similarly to how the access to the order details page is available to guests after their purchase.
However, most people wanting a guest wishlist system are actually fine with the like plugin which I recommended above (actually, this plugin is better suited in most cases, from what I could understand of feedback on this through the years). So the impetus to work on this has been quite limited.
