what i need to understand to modify hikashop

Dear Sir

My question is not concern to any query i want to understand hikashop deeply so i can make my plugins and module for hikashop
i have read developers documentation but not able to understand . i know some php but don't know mvc and opps i am ready to learn
anything to understand deeply to hikashop . so what things i need to learn to understand hikashop clearly. and is hikashop based on
any php framework like zend and cakephp or codeigniter.

HikaShop is based on the Joomla MVC framework:
docs.joomla.org/Framework
I invite you to read all you can on the Joomla framework and that should give you a better idea of what we're talking about in the documentation and about how HikaShop itself is made.
