add to cart html link

Is there a way to make the add to cart html link not go straight to checkout but bring up the pop up that says continue shopping or proceed to checkout? I see in the link it says "checkout=1" I am assuming it has something to do with that... but not sure...

There is no option for that.
In that case, I would recommend to use the product tags system instead of add to cart HTML links as the product tags can handle the popup.
