can anyone give me a hint as to what the PayPal URL should look like?

My client has provided me some buttons to add, but can't see where i can use them within the HikaShop system.

Buttons to add ? What do you mean ?
You don't need any button... HikaShop will redirect the customer to the paypal website at the end of the checkout so that he can pay.

That's why in the options of the paypal payment plugin (that you can access via the menu System->Payment methods) you need to enter the email of your paypal account. It will be sent along with the rest of the information so that you can receive the money on your paypal account.

Along these same lines of thought though-

While sending the email address does connect to the Paypal account, passing only the email leaves an rather unprofessional feeling. As in my case the Paypal account email has nothing to do with this one website per se.

How can I pass my Shop's logo and name? I know Paypal has the hooks to capture that information because my vm shop handles it pretty nicely...

The name of your shop can be configured in your paypal account. You can try on our website. You won't see our email address but the name of our company "Hikari Software SARL".

For the logo, there is a header option in the options of the paypal plugin where you can specify the URL of your logo.

Ahh... thanks again. It's so clear now..

As for configuring Paypal itself... the email in question is used in a couple different shops so that is probably not going to work. The Logo should do the trick, though it would be nice to be able to pass a few more parameters from the hikashop>paypal configuration page.

Anyways, I'll try it out!

@ Garyspeed

If you want to use your client's button instead of the hikashop checkout button.... then you need to edit the css file.

Use the Firefox plugin "Web Developer" to find the class or id tag you need to edit to replace the button. Just right click ( after installing the plugin) the button and choose "inspect element."

That will provide you with the needed information. Then find the css file in question and edit it. If that's beyond you, you'll get it after some study... it really doesn't get simpler than that.
