Hi again all!!

I´m trying to change my language Hikashop from english to spanish installing the spanish language in my joomla 1.6.

I can see the correct language installed in componets-->hikashop-->Config-->Languages:

1 Edit English (United Kingdom) en-GB
2 Edit Español (España) es-ES

But the problem is In the frontend site the language is not change, How can I make es-ES default language?

I have search in forum, in documentation, in backend options and I don´t see how can I do it.

Thanks in advance.

Did you retrieve the spanish language file for hikashop ?
Did you save it once done ?

The default language of your website is something you can set in the menu Extensions->Languages Manager of the joomla back end.

Yes, the site is torocars.com, for example the product list: torocars.com/index.php/productos

all the buttons like "add to cart", "The cart is empty" are in english.

If you need the admin password for the site please let me know how can i give you.

Could you activate the "debug language" option which is in the joomla configuration ?

I see that your login module is also in english. The login module is part of joomla. Actually, all your pages are displayed in english on your front end (only your content is in spanish but that's normal since you wrote it in spanish...) so it must be a problem of language setup in joomla.
For example, that page is also in english: torocars.com/index.php/component/users/?...tion&Itemid=&lang=es

So you should first fix your joomla defualt language on your front end. Then, hikashop should automatically use it.
Maybe the link below will help? docs.joomla.org/Language_Switcher_Tutorial_for_Joomla_1.6

Of course Nicolas, I belive tha was a bug fixed in joomla 1.6.1.

In 1.6 the default language not worked (at least for me), just installing 1.6.1(not changing configuration) in a clean restore site (files and DB) and works perfectly in the first attempt.

You can see here: forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=617&t=6...3&p=2454576#p2454576

Thank you one more time, probably I will ask to you other questions, so we see on hikashop.com.

First, you need to make sure that you have the en-US language file installed on your website. You can check that via the languages manager. If it's missing, you should download it on joomla.org and install it via the joomla installer.
Then, on the languages manager, you can set the en-US language as default.

I have the same problem in Joomla 1.5 and Hikashop Starter version.

Though I have configured everything as described above. The degault Language is German as well. Still all the content text on frontend is in English.

Help please :)

Hi Gizzy,

Did you really set your "front-end default language" to German trough "Control Panel->Language manager->'Installed - Site'" ?
