How do we allow buyers to pay one-third of the total price of a product each month?

HikaShop does not handle partial payments.

That something which has to be supported at the payment plugin level.
There are already two payment plugins which supports payments in several installments:
1. The SIPS ATOS payment plugin which is included by default in HikaShop has an option for that.
2. The PayZen payment plugin : www.payzen.eu/module-de-paiement-gratuit/
3. With our integration with Akeeba Subscriptions and together with the PayPal reccurring payment plugin, it's also possible to achieve that: www.hikashop.com/support/support/documen...a-subscriptions.html
