Problem with checkout

When on checkout page, when i click on billing information text or payment method text (collect on delivery), i am immediately buying the product. I want that to be unclickable and buy only when i click next button. Is that possible?

What if I have two shipping methods - one is PPL and one is personal pick up. For PPL it works fine giving me my two payment options "bank transfer" and "collect on delivery". Problem that I am having is when I clik to my second shipping method which is the personal pick up for which I have only payment in cash. With the auto submit on it gives me an error meesage that I need to check the terms and conditions, but I did not want to go to the next step yet. With auto submit off I have by checking personal pick up all the payment methods visible which is what I also dont want. What option do I have wrong?

My checkout workflow is cart,login_address,shipping_payment_status_terms_confirm,end.
Shipping options - PPL and personal pickup
Payment options - bank transfer and collect on delivery for PPL
only cash for personal pickup

Ok, so I have changed the workflow so my terms and conditions and status is in the last step. When I change my payment method from bank transfer to collect on delivery it automatically goes to the next step. Why? For that I have the next button there. That is validating and at the same time going to the next step.

That means that I cannot have my scenario of shipping and payment done the way it should be? If the customer chooses personal pick up I would like to only have one payment option which is pay by cash. When he chooses PPL than he has three options - bank transfer or collect on delivery. By having the auto submit off he will see all three payment options even when he picks personal pickup. When having auto submit on then it skips to the next step for the customer. What if he would like to change the method than he is already in the next step of the checkout.

attached is a picture of my situation. When PPL is selected than only the first two should be as options. When the second option is selected only the last from the payment method should be visible. I am not able to achieve this. I have the auto submit off. I have setup the pay by cash to have the personal pickup shipping method, but my options are not changing depending on what shipping method I choose. Can you help?

By having the auto submit on it is now showing correct payment methods according to what shipping method I choose, but it is not allowing me to change the option once I have the shipping method chosen and I pick the payment method, because it automatically goes to the next step of my checkout. Then I have to go back in the checkout process and by changing one option it jumps again to the next step not allowing me to change the other, because of the auto submit. How do i keep the function of showing my payment options according to what shipping method I choose and also stay on the page? Is it possible to first choose and then click on the Next button when I am done choosing my methods?

Yes I can split it to more steps, but the idea is to have less steps for the customer and to have shipping and payment in one page. What you are suggesting is a good workaround, but not a good solution for the checkout process I think.
