Is there a way in this shop to create different access levels for my site admin? Basically, I am the site super admin and I do not want my store manager messing with the rest of my site. Is there any way to limit the store manager to have admin access only to the hikishop control panel?

You can do that with joomla 1.6 and 1.7 with the group manager. If you're on joomla 1.5 you will need DJF ACL to do that.
For the hikashop back end itself, you can fine tune the accesses to each menu based on the group of the user via the access level tab of the configuration in the Business edition.

Thank you so much for the help. I am starting to really like this new store and it seems be to able to integrate with my Joomla/JFBConnect/CB/Hikashop site.

My problem is that I just do not know how to create a usergroup that only has access to what registered users can do and also the hikashop admin panel. Please help. I have Joomla 1.7

After doing more research it looks like HikaShop is missing the options button that would let me set what usergroup can access that component. Correct?

You can change the accesses for HikaShop via the access level tab of the configuration in the Business edition. It's not a global setting but a setting for each menu of HikaShop.

I think Mattlab means that he wants others to be able to work with Hikashop via the back end without making them super admanistrators. now only super administrators can edit hika shop via back end.
I have the same situation: I have a friend for who I have made a website, I want her to be able to work on hikashop: adding articles etc but I do not want to make her super administrator because she has not enough knowledge about using Joomla.

Regards
Chris

We are currently working on a solution n order to be able to manage the store from the front end and that will allow you to say what would be manageable by which user group.
It will be available in a few months.

Hi,

I have just discovered HikaShop and have installed it on my test site.

It looks exactly what I have been looking for and I was about to start converting my sites to your product until my final test of admin rights!!!

I must be able to restrict users to admin the shop but not the joomla site.

Can I do this with the business edition as if so, I will be happy to buy the product, but I need to be able to set a Joomla Manager Access level to be able to admin the HikaShop.

Please let me know what my options are.

Thank you,

Tim

With joomla 2.5 you can restrict the access to components with ACLs on the back end.
There is no need for the Business edition ACL support which handles fine grained ACLs in the back end and for the content of the shop.
You can use such extension in order to make it easy for you to configure that:
extensions.joomla.org/extensions/access-...access-control/17951
But you should be able to do it already with the options of each component by default I think.
