My default for the combo box at the bottom of the products is "100".

Now i want to show all my products in one screen so I select "all" in the "all, products, variants" combo box and i select "all sub elements" in the "all sub elements, Direct sub elements" combo box. THat seems to work ok. THe first problem comes in is when i try and then select "all" in the combo box at the bottom of the products display.

It doesnt change from "100" but it does sometimes show all the products. Only sometimes though.

So at the moment i have 115 items.
When i click "all" it shows 115 items but it still says "100" and still says that it is showing 100 of 115 and gives me the paginatoin saying "page 1, Page 2, etc"
I have attached a screenshot for this.

Now if I try and export, it exports a random amount of products. Never the full amount. This time it only exported 104 items.

What could be the problem?

That's normal.

We don't allow you to display all your products on one page, we restrict it to 500 so that you don't get a blank page because you tried to display too much data on one page. However, due to the fact that we're using the joomla pagination system, the display of the pagination is a bit screwed in such cases. Not much we can do on that end unfortunately.

For the export, it will export the products selected (or displayed if none are selected) without taking into account pagination. So you can get all of your products in the CSV that way. Note that each variant of product will also take one line of the CSV, and categories as well. So the number of lines of the CSV will never match the number of products as you will always have additional lines added for categories and variants during the export.

Ok, the only thing is, i have no variants as of yet. I just have products and when i export them i always get different amounts. I did remove the categories and the title row of the csv file to check how many lines got exported (in the image of the original post) and dont get the full 115 items.

Well, we always get the correct number of products exported in our tests so I can't comment as long as we can't reproduce the problem, if there is indeed a problem.
We would have to see the full listing and the full CSV resulting of the export to be able to conclude on that.

I have the same problem. I think if hikashop doesnt want to display all as you think it may give a blank page from loading too many items/data then the option all should be greyed out or not shown at all. I personally use it quite alot in other joomla extensions and miss it working 'like it should' in hikashop :)

We indeed restrict the use of the "all" because otherwise we get all the time support questions about why the back end display a blank page after doing that on a listing with 10000 elements ;)

So when you click on all, the system displays the first 500 elements. But the display of the dropdown is done by joomla, not HikaShop and HikaShop cannot easily change it's display to remove the all and add a 500. So that's why you get that "strange" behavior.

Regarding the export, did you select all the elements via the checkbox at the top of the listing before clicking on the export button ?

ah ok makes sense then that you cannot grey out the 'all' value in the drop down as it is by the joomla core.

i guess its fine for us to know it is the first 500. other users may get a little confused like we were.
