You have the option "Use menu name instead of category name for the title" in the hikashop options of your menu that you should turn off for that.

Wait, you want to display a sub category listing ?

In that case, you should have a category listing menu and not a products listing menu and it will display the sub categories automatically.

Ahhh ! You're talking about the breadcrumbs, right ?
You should publish the joomla breadcrumb module for that.

In the joomla module manager, you need to create a new module of the type breadcrumb:

Hello, I would like to put the breadcrumbs at the top of each of the category pages but I have no idea how to. I have tried to put it as {loadposition xxx} nit this doesn't work. Also, how come when I type in some text for a category, and that category has products show, the text isn't there.
Many Thanks
Iain

Why not publish your breadcrumb module in a top content position of your template ?

You're talking about the text of the description of the category ? That's probably because you have the option "show description" which is deactivated in the hikashop options of your menus. You can access it via the menu Display->Content menus.
