Hi,

I have very little knowledge when it comes to databases so was wondering if someone could help me out. I am trying to move my shop to a new website. But I can not work out how to move the HikaShop tables in the old websites database to the new one's. I can move a whole database, rename and whatever but im pretty sure I just need to move the tables right?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

You can of course move only the tables but moving the database all together and renaming it is easier. In phpmyadmin, once you opened the database of your website, you can click on the export button and then select the tables you want to export.
all the hikashop tables are prefixed with "hikashop" however, the modules and menus that you created for HikaShop are stored by joomla in the tables jos_menus and jos_modules.

Hi Nicolas,

I am moving hikashop to a new site. I will copy all users and the tables of hikashop to the new site (and try catch as many hikashop modules as I can). However, can you tell me if I need to first install the latest copy of hikashop on my new website, then import the tables and users from old site? Basically not sure if I need to install Hikashop first (moving from a Joomla 2.5 site to a Joomla 3 site).

Hi,

When you move HikaShop between websites, it's recommended to have the same version on both websites.
If on your 2.5 website you have an old version of HikaShop which doesn't support 3.x or if you don't have the install package of the version of HikaShop that you have on your 2.5 website, then, it's better to first update HikaShop on the 2.5 website.
Then, you can copy the database tables form the old to the new website, and finally you can install Hikashop on the new website.

I have actually setup hikashop from scratch on new site. I just need to transfer users and my shop orders.
Can you tell me which tables are for all the orders, which I need to copy to just take all the details from the orders across to new database? I am changing from a Joomla2.5 (MySQL) to a Joomla3.3 (MySQLi) setup.

it's the tables hikashop_order hikashop_order_product hikashop_history hikashop_address and hikashop_user.
Note that you should also make sure that you copy all the joomla users from the old website to the new one and that they keep the same ids. If they don't keep the same ids, you need to install HikaShop again on the website in order to synchornize the ids again.

Many thanks Nicolas.
I tried that but the transfer of the database tables did not work - possibly an issue with migrating them from a 2.5 site to a J3.3 site. Who knows.

What other option, if any, do I have for importing the order / cutomer from my old site to new site. I have already imported all the Joomla users.

There is no other options than the process I explained above.
If you have a hard time doing it, you might want to hire someone to do it for you.
We have partners you can contact for that: www.hikashop.com/home/our-partners.html
And you can also look for someone on our commercial jobs forum or joomlancers.com

Hi Nicolas,

Is there no way to export some of the data as a .CSV, at least just to have the records of what people ordered?
The hosting company said that they could not help - as quite often they do.

If there is no .csv option, I will see if any of the source you have supplied can come up with database professionals.

Hi,

Sorry to jump into this topic, hope my answer will be correct.
Thanks to the mass actions, you can export the order data, in the csv file you can put all the order, customer and address data.

Hope this will help you, but there is maybe missing things.
