Content Modules

I created a Content Menu Item (Category Listing) which displays 6 categories, the automatically created Content Module controls the display of the products in those categories. I cannot figure out how to create a separate Content Module for each category, which would allow me to configure the display differently for each category. Is this possible?

Also I added a "search" feature to my store but when I click on a search result it gives me a different product page than the page generated if I were to click on the product itself.

There is no category restriction on modules. You would have to edit the file "listing" of the view "category" via the menu Display->Views and add a check near the end where the modules are loaded to decide whether or not to load a module based on the current category.

How did you do your search page ? How is the page different ? Could you do some screenshots maybe ?

Thank you so much for replying - I would consider myself a novice so if this is a simple issue please excuse.

(Search Issues)
When I click on the product in my store I get this:

mysite/online-store/product/3-remote-control-monster-gator/category_pathway-12 (uses a specified template)

When I use the search module to find a product and click on the resulting product link I get this:

mysite/component/hikashop/product/3-remotecontrolmonstergator (uses default template & add to cart function does not work
properly)

So I created a Joomla "search menu item" and associated the proper template with it and now the search page looks correct whether through the menu item or module but the resulting product link is still an issue (default template and no proper checkout function)

In the hikashop products search plugin's options, in the menu (itemid) option, you need to specify the id of your menu. That way, the results will use that menu template.
