Hi,

for now i didn't find information how to make a difference between individual people (paying VAT) and companies which are registered to tax office (so purchasing without VAT).

Due to local laws, i must ask if buyer is a company or individual person.
in case the person represents a company, I MUST GET:
1. its tax office registration number (for example in Slovak it starts by SKxxxxxxxx - where xxxxxxxx are digits)
2. and its trading chamber registration number.

should i create custom fields for that ?
a) where can we ask customer to type them ?
b) where is the best place to store those data ?

in fact, how does your component cope with that ?

thx.

A.

Hi,

That is handled via custom fields.
The address_company and address_vat fields are already created by default in HikaShop. They are just not published. Publishing them with do the job.
For the trading chamber number, you could just add a new custom address field.

The data is stored automatically in the database, and you will see it when you see the address.

Hello Nicolas,
I would like to have the VAT number shown only when there is something entered into the Company field. The "display limited to" does exactly the opposite to what I would like to achieve. Once I enter something to my Company field the VAT number dissapears.

Why not add a custom field "company" of the type radio button with the values yes and no and then have both the input box for the company name and the VAT number to be limited to the yes value of that new custom field ?

That works, thank you :) While testing this I ran into another problem and that is editing the information for the customer from the admin side. I have VAT number and company as required fields and when I want to edit some information for a customer on the back side who is individual and not company I do not have the function of hiding the reguired fields in the admin side and the form wants me to enter the company name and VAT number.

Under Hikashop users when I would like to edit customer's information I have the company and VAT number required fields even when the user is as individual and not a company. The hiding of the VAT and company does not hide under the admin user menu.

I made the system handle display limitations for that screen but the modifications involve several files.

I can generate you a pre version of next version of HikaShop if you want in order to handle that. In that case, please send us a message via our contact form with your HikaShop edition.
Or you can wait for next version.
