How can out of stock items be available for order?

Hi All,

I would like to have the option that users can order items that are out of stock. How can I accomplish that?

Can I just change the template that displays the product and remove the out of stock check?

Hi,

I don't think that it will be possible to validate an order with a product which is "out of stock".
I will recommend you to use the "unlimited" quantity.

A potential client of ours really wishes to be able to order items that are out of stock. Are there any updates on this development or would he still need to set quantity to "unlimited"?

Also, I saw under Essential edition that this feature is available: "Waiting list to which users can subsribe for out of stock products". Could you tell me briefly what that means? I mean, could we then set all users to subscribe for out of stock items?

Hi,

Waitling list is an email notification system.
When a product is "out of stock", the customer as the possibility to ask for a notification when the product would be available.
After stock modification (when the product become available), some customer which be notified in the order of their subscription.

Thank you. So, in detail, does it work this way: The quantity is set to a certain number (not unlimited), then when the stock runs out it shows "out-of-stock", then a person can still click on the product and order the quantity they want and then at that time choose to be notified when item is in stock while at the receiving end, the company receives their request and can order the quantity they need and notify them of when product would be available again?

Or is it that w/ email notification option, quantity is set to "unlimited" the whole time?

Hi,

First the product is "out of stock". Quantity is 0.
So the customer see this:



If the customer click on the "notify me" button:


And when quantity would change, customer would receive an email.

For the moment, there is no interface to check or manage the waiting list.

Hello Jerome...and Yes, I am here right now for the same reason..

1) Where to look at who is on the "waiting list" per product?

2) As? Well, if people are waiting...it is time to re-order. This is a very IMPORTANT function of Selling.. If? You have a buyer, you want to SELL to the buyer of "Interest"

For temporary solution? How can I add a CC Mail To function? To alert ??

Also? I did a test and here is English results

You will be notify when the product will be avaible

Availble is incorrect : Should be " Available "

What file to change this in please?

Hi,

Regarding your translation problem, you'll just have to :
- Go to "Hikashop->Configuration->Language->'Your english language file'"
- Change the line :

WAITLIST_SUBSCRIBE="You will be notify when the product will be avaible"
to :
WAITLIST_SUBSCRIBE="You will be notify when the product will be available"
