Config problems

I am new to Hikashop but am quite experienced with Joomla and other shops.

I installed today on a J2.5.1 and it had an database tables from VM1 so the import worked well, all products and categories went over as it should.

How ever I am having problem with saving configurations and menusettings, it seems that it will not save to the database, after I have clicked the save button I get the confirmation that it has saved but all the radiobuttons, dropdown menus and checkboxes jump back to the settings it had before I changed.

I went in to the hikashop_config db-table and did some changes there, like my Zone and currency and now they are there in the settings.

When I save the configuration I get this error:

Your checkout workflow is empty.
Checkout workflow invalid. The modification is ignored. See the documentation for more information on how to configure that option
No valid weight unit entered. The system put back the default units.
No valid dimension unit entered. The system put back the default units.
Successfully Saved

My checkout workflow is not empty, it is as default. I tried to change it but it went back to default, see above.
Weight and dimensions are the default, haven't changed those

Why will it not change the DB?

I am at the moment doing this on a localhost on my Mac, it has PHP 5.3.1 and is on Apache 2.2.14, MySql is 5.1.44

Thanks

To check if there is any other extension that is in conflict I did a clean install of Joomla 2.5 and on top of that a clean install of Hikashop.

I was able to make a few categories and products. Change the currency and make a tax setting for this.

So long so good...

But I have the same problem on this clean installation, I can not save the menu settings, when I select the category for a product listing it show up after the selection but after a save the setting go back to default.

Same thing with settings in the Hikashop configuration.

Something is wrong here...

In the attachement you'll see the value that has been entered. Is this normal or should it be something readable?
All my menues have the same content in the table _hikashop_config and I can't save anything to this table.

Did a Google and found another user with the same problem. I opened the site in Safari and were able to save the settings there.

A emptying of the Cache in Firefox didn't solve the problem which seems to be related to Firefox in some way.

OK I go on using Safari for the moment.

It happens for some users with some browsers. Sometimes firefox, sometimes chrome. We were not able yet to reproduce the problem on our end.
