HTML Template overrides

I have been trying to modify the look of the product listing and the common way is with template overrides.

I have made copies of product/listing_list.php in the my template/HTML/com_hikashop directory. But I can't find very much that is editable for me.

What I want to do is to remove the line for the status of Stock and do some other cosmetic changes.

It looks like much of the HTML comes from the core of Hikashop.

So my question how to go along and do some template overrides?

And can I set up different templates that I can set to a category? I haven't found anything in the settings for doing that.

I have some experience with both RedShop and Virtuemart2 and both have the possibility to do this.

Thanks

Jan

The simplest is to edit your view files via the menu Display->Views.
The changes will be saved automatically as overrides and that way you won't make any file location mistakes when editing them.
When you edit the listing view files via the interface, you will have the possibility to set a new name for the file. That way, it will create a new view file that you will be able to select in the "layout" options of categories and products.

Thanks for the information, as I said in another post that is a very clever way of doing it.

I think I start to get hang of Hikashop now.

Is there somewhere a list with discription which (override) files contain which content.
I can't find the file that contains the productlists (where several products are shown on a page).

I want to move the price to bottom and change some other styling.

I'll keep on trying!

I think the one yo're looking for is Category/listing_list.php

There is no such list.
If you're using the default settings, it's the file "listing_img_title" of the view "product" that you want to edit to change the price position with the item box layout "image and title" in DIV listings.

I use DIV setting (if that's what you mean). I hate tabless.

BTW I'm new to Hikashop, but the more I learn, the happier I am.

Only template styling is a lot of work. Not as easy as say Joomla.

Hi,

The simplest is to edit your view files via the menu Display->Views.
The changes will be saved automatically as overrides and that way you won't make any file location mistakes when editing them.

Otherwise you can do it manually in the folder "template/you_template/html/com_hikashop/...", the classical override way in Joomla.
