Hi,

I was thinking to have on the right side on my website, a simple cart with only product name, its price and the total sum of the cart.
customer should be able to review in detail its cart, clicking on a button link, so cart details should appear in content part.

1. when cart is empty, is it possible to display an image (instead of or in addition of) the standard sentence "your cart is empty" ?
2. I searched information about the detailed cart link itself, but without success. Can you tell me how can i display detailed cart in content part of my website, just by clicking for example a menu item link ?

thx.

Hi,

1. Yes, do an override of that translation key with the HTML code of your image in it, like that:

CART_EMPTY="<img src='http://mywebsite.com/myimage.png' />"

2. You should load it into a joomla article using the loadposition plugin of Joomla. Then, create a menu going to that joomla article.

If i load it into an article, in this case customer will be redirected OUTSIDE the eshop. This is not what i would like. I want him to stay in the eshop but just to see details of his cart....so something like "detailed cart" is displayed on main page of eshop.

Then you could create a menu item of the type hikashop checkout and change your checkout workflow so that you only see the cart on the first step of the checkout.

I did like you said (even for people not registered) but i have following questions:

1. It doesn't matter if user is logged-in or not, automatically when user clicks on menu item "detailed cart" he is redirected to another page OUTSIDE eshop...like if it was a standard article :-( so it means for me that user went out from e-shop (so without left eshop menu - products category, and right conte - images and cart)

so what did i do wrong ?

thx

In the Checkout tab of the configuration, set the "force menu on checkout" to your eshop menu and you should have what you want.

Hi Nicolas,

i'm a little bit confused with your feedback.
here is what i did.
1. i have a menu item of Hikashop Checkout type.
2. i can't setup for this particular menu item, only checkout/cart as first step because the only place where you can do it, it's in "Component > Hikashop > configuration > Checkout". So it would change the workflow for all checkout processes and not only for this particular menu item.
3. Force a menu on the checkout = eshop menu (to display the cart into eshop main page)

result: when user clicks on "detailed cart", he is redirected to a page outside my eshop main page :-(
Please could you tell me what did i do wrong ?
thx.

PS: in fact i correctly redirect user to his cart, if the cart is not empty...in case the cart is empty, the menu item redirects user to a standard article-like page...so outside from eshop main page.

If you have "Force a menu on the checkout" set to "eshop", the checkout will always display for that menu.
So your menu item of Hikashop Checkout type should also be in eshop.
I don't see how that would be different.

Please give some screenshots/links so that we can see what you did.

As you can see on standard eshop content screenshot, this is how looks like the content of my main page and where the "detailed cart" information should appear (in the middle content).
However, when user clicks on my menu item "detailed card" it appears as on my menu item cart result screenshot :-(

something i must do wrong but i don't find out.

you can also easily see the issue looking at the breadcrumb bar...

Yes, that's because you added your image via a translation override.
If you don't want that, then instead of doing a translation override for that, you should rather enter your HTML in the empty cart message override option of the hikashop options of your hikashop cart module.
