Options showing up as individual products in cart

I'm attempting to make an 'a la carte' product for my client who is a granola maker wherein customers can order a bulk amount of granola and select the ingredients they would like to add. Each individual ingredient will cost the customer an extra dollar. I figured that options were my best bet but am having a hell of time getting it to work correctly.

I have variants for each option product "with" and "without".

"with" = 1.00
"without" = 0

it all adds up fine on the product page but when I add to cart all of the options show up as clickable products. I have them in a hidden category and they show up.. I have a screen shot of what I'm talking about. I've looked at the demo page and sa that the options are in the mini cart on there but aren't clickable. What did I do wrong this time?

Thanks,

Uncle Twisty.

In the Checkout tab of the configuration, turn on the option "group options with product".

You need to update to a new version of HikaShop.

I've updated hikashop and now I can't get the options to add to the total price. I've tried many things:

for instance: adding options with yes / no characteristics, yes being valued at +1.00 and no being 0

i then found this thread: www.hikashop.com/forum/4-how-to/19448-mi...oduct-option-labels/

in which i found this quote:

Hi,

With the latest version of HikaShop 1.5.4, it's more simple than that.

You can just create a normal product for your option, without characteristics, and add it to your product. Then, the yes/no choice will be done automatically and the no option won't add the option to the cart.

after which I attempted this: adding an option with a price of 1.00 for say cranberries. so that when cranberries were added it should add 1.00.

This still didn't work instead it shows up like this:

I'm feeling like an idiot.

I'm sure it's a simple fix.

Thanks in advance, as always,

Uncle Twisty.

The price with options is not displaying on your page. It's either that you have a javascript error or because you customized the show view file. If you did the later, I would recommend to revert the customization of that view and see if that fixes it.

Otherwise, please provide a link to that page.

Ok, So I wasn't sure that I change the show view file, so I reverted it to the original, I dont know why there would be a javascript error, but I'm still having the same issue..

basically it is not adding the price of the option.

I can't give you a link to the page because I can't leave this product published until this issue is fixed.

I feel like that should be "None" and "apples (+1.00)" am I correct in thinking this?

I'd really like to get this fixed asap!

Thanks as always.

Keith.

I can't give you advices on why that doesn't work without looking at the page (not a screenshot, but looking with firebug).
That is working on other websites, if that doesn't work, it's either a js issue, or a CSS or an HTML issue. It's too vague to tell you want to do.

If you want that the price becomes 31 with the option selected then yes, it should be +1. In that case, you need to change the price of your option product to $1.

so I've placed the product in a hidden category so people can't buy it.

www.columbiacountybread.com/redirect/ind...rivate-stock-granola

the options are cranberries and apples, both set at $1 each, but you'll see that it does not appear that way.

thanks.

In the file "option" of the view "product" that you can edit via the menu Display->Views, you have the piece of code:
hikashop_product_pice_with_options_main
instead of:
hikashop_product_price_with_options_main

Because of that, it's not able to set the product price with the options properly. That error is not in HikaShop so it must be something you modified.
I suspect that the fact that the price is in not correct in the dropdown is indeed caused by a modification you made as we cannot reproduce the problem either on our end.
