Hikashop with Admin Tools

After a hacking incident, I installed Akeeba's Admin Tools for added security. I've made very few changes to the default settings in Admin Tools. But I just ran into an issue after I added a new category to Hikashop. When I went to the test site to check, I was unable to open the Category page
../catalogue/category.html getting a 404 error.
I suspect that I need to change some settings in Admin Tools htaccess maker, but before I experiment with those settings I thought it best to ask here if anyone is using Admin Tools alongside Hikashop and run into this problem.

Further:
Looking to see what folder I need to open up to direct access in Admin Tools, I found that there is no catalogue folder off the root, so some SEF? changes are happening. What folder needs to be opened to direct access to avoid the 403 404 errors when opening the category.html file

Hi,

I don't know about admin tools htaccess maker, but by default when you configure joomla SEF, you need to set the htaccess of joomla in the root of the website.

404 errors are indeed usually caused by SEF. You should first try to deactivate SEF to see if that solves the problem. Then, tries the other way around and turn off only admin tools.
That will already tell you which one is the problem.

Many thanks, Nicolas.

Sure enough, turning off the SEF solved the problem.
