Shop is in CAPS and all labels carry HIKA_PREFIX

This may be a dumb question, but I don't seem to find a helpful description of why the shop layout is in this form:

I was able to install the shop, and so far it seems functional; however somethings that I find really annoying is that the shop front and back-end all labels are in CAPS and an underscore.

HIKASHOP_BILLING_ADDRESS

CART_PRODUCT_IMAGE CART_PRODUCT_NAME CART_PRODUCT_UNIT_PRICE PRODUCT_QUANTITY

HIKA_CATEGORIES

At this point, I am only assuming that it is because I am running the free version. Or is it possible that this is an issue with my PHP configuration settings.

In several screen shot in the documentation the layout looks normal.

This clarification is very important. So far I like the flexibility of the shop.

Thanks in advanced for any info.

Hi.

Those are the supposed to be replaced with the correct text from the HikaShop language file. When the labels/texts outputs like that, it means either that particular text is not in the language file or your language file is missing or corrupt.

You should check: language/en-GB/en-GB.com_hikashop.ini (if you're language is en-GB. Otherwise look in your respective language folder).

Check to see if it's there and if it is in fact there, check to see it can be opened. If anything, you can re-upload a fresh language file overwriting the bad one.

Cheers,
Winchester

As winchester said, your language file is either missing or corrupt. You can find the file here:
www.hikashop.com/en/download/languages.html#languages and upload it manually via FTP to your website and that should fix the problem.
It's not related to the edition you're using but happened probably because the permissions of the folder language/en-GB on your website didn't allow the joomla installer to put the HikaShop translation file there.

Have you recently updated to the new version?
Did you change the language .ini file with the new one ?

Hey guys I really appreciate your responses. You are correct it is a languages issue. I tried all ways to install it, uploaded manually, reinstalled the shop. but nothing works.

Under SYSTEM >> HIKA_CONFIGURATION there is this message

MISSING_LANGUAGE LOAD_LATEST_LANGUAGE

When I use this wizard I get this message: "Hikashop found your language on hikashop.com, this language file will be loaded on your textarea so you can save it and use it on your own website"

When I click OK,

JFile: :read: Unable to open file: /srv/www/htdocs/domain.com/public_html/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_hikashop.ini

The file exist at that location with 777 permission,

I manually paste the content in the same file and uploaded but same result.

Is there any other place in the configuration panel to tell the shop what language file it should use. (under the language tab English UK is the default) but still complains that there is missing language file.

thanks for your help.

Sorry, Seem like it was my fault. I has been resolved.

My up-loader was not uploading in binary mode. Changed my upload mode to binary and that worked.

Thanks to all.
