My breadcrumbs get broken too. Tried creating the categories as suggested but not working for me.

You can have admin access if you want, the site is not advertised yet.

Ah if you turn off Simplified Breadcrumbs it works great, like it's supposed to.

Ah yes, that option was made so that it removes the category information from the URL. Because of that, the system doesn't know anymore how to properly build the path of the breadcrumb but you get shorter URLs.
