Help: Product Category Menu is making me dizzy...

My product category menu is acting odd. It should be Hardware - Door - Backplates (although it is having submenu issues of course.) Instead, both Door and Backplate show up TWICE. Both as their own listing as well as under Hardware. We've been going in circles on this.

Is there a Hikashop for Dummies out anywhere? I'm not finding the documentation very clear at all...
