Nicolas,

I have activated my cron (a while ago) and my out of stock notification plugin is enabled. I am getting those fancy cron status updates to my email address every hour, usually they say something like:

HikaShop zahájen v 04 Duben 2012 06:29
Products quantity checked

My problem is, I am not getting notified on which products are out of stock in that email. Where can I see a report of which products are out of stock for me at the moment?

Thanks,

Karol

The plugin will only send an email if the stock is less that what you set in the options of the plugin. It's in another email than this one.
It's strange that it doesn't work. Did you check your spam folder ? Does your hosting has a restriction on the number of emails allowed to be sent per thread ?

If you want to check your out of stock products, you can easily see that in the products listing of the back end. Just set the filter on the right to "all sub elements" and order the listing by quantity and you will be able to see the products with the lowest quantity.

Nicolas,

I have around 5000 products and there are some issues with what you're suggesting:

- "Unlimited" quantity is displayed before out of stock (zero quantity products)
- When I choose to display all products only first 500 are displayed and pagination don't work (displays only 100 / page)

Back to the plugin:

Maybe I just don't understand how it works. My settings for the plugin are:

Period = 86400 seconds (i.e. 1 day)
Stock limit = 0

My understanding is that once per day I should be getting report of products that are out of stock.

I've check my spam folder and no report there as well.

Maybe I've entered email address badly somewhere? Which email address it sends email to?

Thanks,

Karol

It sends the report to the email you configured in the tab Email of the configuration of HikaShop.

If the quantity is unlimited, you won't get any report.

Set the quantity of a product to 0 and within one day, you should get an email for it if the plugin is configured like that and published.

Regarding the pagination, that's normal. We don't allow you to display all the products on one page as it's too resource hungry. If you want to get a list of all the products data, just do an export of the products and open the file with excel.

With regards to unlimited: I am not expecting unlimited stock to be reported by cron, that was not what I was saying (I was just explaining how your suggested work around don't work in my situation). I will double check my email configuration later tonight and will get back to you later this week.

There are multiple email adresses available there. Which one does it actually uses?

Be careful! Some servers restrict the use of this parameter to a local e-mail account, so make sure you can still send emails after editing this parameter. This e-mail address will not be visible for your receivers. If it doesn't work after filling it, leave it empty.
If you are unsure, just leave it empty.

It's the "From Address" email which is used.

Ok, I've reviewed default email account for domain and I've found following emails (for every day since I've enabled notification plugin):

Datum: Tue, 10 Apr 2012 03:22:04 -0500 [10.4.2012 03:22:04 CDT]
Od: Cron Daemon <This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.>
Komu: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
Předmět: Cron <karolko@gator1656> /usr/local/bin/perl /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/quickinstall/scripts/checkupdates.pl
Checking
Can't open socket: Connection timed out at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/QuickInstall/HTTP.pm line 28.

Any ideas why this is happening?

That's not related to HikaShop
