Hi,

Do you have tips to improve Hikashop / Joomla search (I really don't know which part is responsible for which) especially the following:

- display the product image within the search
- display the product price within the search
- not opening extra browser tab when clicking to display the details of one of the product off the search results

Thanks,

Karol

For the tab opening, there is an option for that in the hikashop search plugins.

For the rest, the results of the joomla search module are displayed by Joomla, not HikaShop, so it would require the edit the view handling that to load the price/image data of each product in order to display it like you want (really not easy to do but feasible).

Otherwise, you could use HikaShop filters instead of the joomla search system:

I've disabled the tab opening thank you for that. Is the improvement of the default joomla search (tailored for Hikashop needs) on the wish list at least? I would say this is basic functionality of any e-commerce solution to display product image / price after the search.

Filters are nice (I am planning to use them for some of the bigger categories) but not exactly the same thing as good search.

Filters allow you to do a search system but with all the display options of HikaShop, and the possibility to add more criteria. There is no need for anything in the wishlist on that end.
Also, joomla's search does not offer any way to add filters to it or to customize the display via a plugin. That exactly why we made the filters system in HikaShop.
