Could anyone tell me how to migrate my vm1.1.9
Currently my live site is working on jm 1.5 with vm 1.1.9

I have build on my server also jm 2.5 with hika shop. this is a different database.
For what I have read is that when I'm migrating VM to my new joomla site and than convert is to hika I'm losing all my attributes.
So would it be better to install hika on my jm 1.5 and do a conversion to hika?
Or does my vm don't work anymore then?

Can anyone tell me which steps I need te take to get all my VM data into hika shop in the new jm 2.5
If possible step by step.
All my joomla things I have already exported to jm 2.5

I'm also curious what will happen with my attributes such as size and color

Kind regards

Installing HikaShop on a website won't stop VM to work. Same for the import.

1. Install HikaShop on your Joomla 1.5. Make sure that you have the same version of HikaShop on both websites.
2. Import from VM via the menu Products->VM. The attributes won't be added to your products in HikaShop. You will have to add them again.
3. If you already exported your database from 1.5 to 2.5, check that the ids of users are the same in your old and your new website. If that's not the case, I would recommend to not export the hikashop_address and hikashop_order tables in the next step.
4. Go in the database of your Joomla 1.5 website via phpmyadmin and export all your hikashop tables.
5. Import it in the database of your Joomla 2.5 website.
6. Copy the folder /media/com_hikashop/upload from the old to the new website.

Hello Nicolas,
thank you for your answer.
With the line 'attributes will not be added'. you mean that the sizes (clothing) will not be available?
In that case would it be easier to do a product csv export/import?

Yes, exactly.
You will have to first create your characteristics via Products->characteristics.
Then, you can export the products in HikaShop as a CSV and add them before importing them back.
But I recommend to do some tests by creating one product via the interface to see what you need in the CSV. That will be easier than guessing what you change in the CSV.
