Product page link loops to root product category

Hi,

I've used hikashop before with no problem, but this time for some reason I'm running into difficulties. I've made a pub menu using the catalogue option, with a menu item pointing to a category list and an associated product list module. I can navigate via the main menu link 'Menu' to the category list, which shows 'Food' and 'Drinks'. I click on 'Food' and go to a list of subcategories, eg 'Starters', but when I try to click on the name of a product to go to the product page I am taken to the root folder with 'product category' 'manufacturer' etc.

I also notice that I do not have the hikashop hidden menus, and I wonder if this is the reason. I have looked through the forum and tried various things such as recreating a new menu and module and making sure they are correctly associated, but I still don't see any hidden menu and there is no reference to the menu-type in the database.

If you could shed any light on this I'd be most grateful. If it's a question of reinstalling the component, please let me know how I can do this without losing my settings (I've made some alterations to css and views that I want to retain)

Thanks,

Jen

Hi,

1. That usually happens when you set the same category and product SEF names in the main tab of the configuration of HikaShop and that the SEF is activated in the configuration of Joomla.
Could you check that ?
If that's not the case, could you give a link to your shop so that we can see that?

2. The HikaShop hidden menu will appear automatically when you create category listing modules. If you didn't created one, it's normal that you don't have it. It's not a problem at all.

Hi,

Thanks for the support! Yes, for the first issue, I simply changed the product SEF code to 'item' instead of 'menu-item' (the category is titled 'menu'). Even though they were not exactly the same, it still worked.

For the second issue, I have not done anything about it; as you say, I haven't created a category listing module.

I have another issue regarding the ordering of prices, I will make a new topic.

Thanks, Jen
