[SOLVED] Remove /component/hikashop from carousel

I know that if I choose a specific category for the carousel then I can set the menu item to that products list and the links to the products are fine.

However, if I want to show products from all categories in the carousel then I can't choose the menu item so that the link for each product uses the category URL. So it just uses /component/hikashop/etc...

Is there a way to show multiple categories in the carousel and retain the "normal" URL to each product page?

You can create a category listing menu which would display all your products and use it in the "menu" option of your carousel module. That would remove the component/hikashop part and put instead the menu name instead. But you won't be able to have the "normal" URL if you have one menu item per category since you can only specify one of them in the module.

I see. I guess I will have to do 301 redirects to the "normal" product URL. Thanks for the help. :)

Hi,

To remove component/hikashop from the search results, you need to enter the id of a menu item of the type products listing in the "menu"/"itemid" option of your hikashop products search plugin via the Joomla plugins manager.

To remove the 3- from the URLs, you need to turn on the option "Remove products and categories id in URLs" of the configuration of HikaShop.

hi Nicolas,

for remove /component/hikashop has been successfully, but for remove 3- still failed, if I set Yes on Remove products and categories id in URLs in SEF url options, the link will remove 3- but the product will not shown, any suggest for me please.

Hi,

Please make sure that the alias field of each product is filled with the name of the product without any special characters (only letters and numbers) and it should work.
If not, please provide a link to your products listing page.

Hi,

1. You can force an url for the checkout pages of hikashop thanks to the option "Force a menu on the checkout " in Configuration > Checkout.

2. You can enable the option "Remove products and categories id in URLs" in Configuration > Features > SEF.

1. It's a list of your menu items. If you don't have a menu item to your checkout, you can create one via the Joomla menu manager.

2. Then you should not see the ids in the URLs. If you do, it's either that you're using a third party SEF extension which has its own router for HikaShop (and in that case you need to see that with them), or you have some cache on your website which prevents you from seeing the new URLs.
